YOUTH-CENTERED DIGITAL SOCIETY PROJECT

We start to come across broad social definitions such as digital citizenship, digital migration and digital nativity more and more over time. As our life practices begin to take place on a digital ground, it becomes important how adaptable our emotional world as human beings is to these social developments. For this reason, it is important for us humans, who are biological beings, to identify the digitality-based confusion in our emotional world and to develop digital adaptation and skills.

Our project named ‘Youth Centred Digital Society’, which started on 06.04.2025, is an Erasmus+ KA2 project that we will carry out in this context. The project will run for 19 months until 5 November 2026. The project is funded by the Latvian National Agency within the Erasmus+ programme. The consortium of the project is as follows: WORLD OUR HOME from Latvia, YOUNET APS from Italy and OPENACT from Turkey.

The project aims to develop skills to recognise digital anxiety, understand its causes and develop coping skills, ensuring the well-being of young people online and offline. It also aims to build the capacity of youth organisations across Europe and contribute meaningfully to the EU’s 2030 Digital Goals and the European Year of Digital Citizenship.

Through a comprehensive set of activities, the project will produce valuable resources such as field research, training curricula, digital toolkit and awareness workshops, filling an important gap in youth work practice.

Youth Centred Digital Society will implement the following activities to achieve its objectives:

1st Kick-off Meeting (KOM)

2.Fieldwork and Curriculum Development

3rd Online Project Meeting

4th Transnational Youth Workers Training

5th Transnational Awareness Youth Workshop

At its core, ‘Youth-Centred Digital Society’ is about enabling young people to navigate the digital world safely and confidently. It is about empowering the youth work sector, it is about giving youth workers the tools they need to support young people in a complex, fast-paced online environment. Together, we are building a future where young people are not only technology users, but also informed, resilient digital citizens.
