A STUDY ON THE PHENOMENON OF HIKIKOMORI
On 5 June, we discussed the phenomenon of hikikomori with the disciplines of sociology and psychology in our interview titled “A Study on the Phenomenon of Hikikomori”, sponsored by Istanbul Municipality Culture Co. at the Museum Gazhane.
Hikikomori, which defines the phenomenon of living an isolated life apart from society or staying at home for a long time, has become a significant social phenomenon in recent years. Not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world and even in Turkiye we discussed how the behaviour of individuals feeds the phenomenon and how social structures create the phenomenon.
